The petition “Democracy and Human Rights Education Now!” was supported by almost 1000 signatures. After official submission to the Austrian Parliament and favourable expert opinions, the demands were dealt with in the relevant parliamentary Education Committee at the beginning of 2021. Although the content of the petition met broad support, it was merely noted and not pursued further. Nonetheless, a discussion on enhanced and contemporary democracy education and citizenship education could be induced. Link to the Austrian Parliament.
